Sara Green is the mom who isn’t afraid to admit that her kids are annoying, gross, or loud. Her house is often untidy, cluttered with toys and games, beds go unmade and floors overdue for a cleaning. She likes to tackle parenting with humor, confidence and pragmatic realism. Her therapy is sharing witty and off-beat stories that are realist portrayals of life as a mom.
But the truth is, Sara, became a writer to escape her reality. After the birth of her first son, she was diagnosed with Postpartum Depression. She felt like a failure. But most importantly, she felt alone. But writing was her way of feeling connected. Her journey into motherhood has been difficult, facing battles with infertility that resulted in six miscarriages, and having her Postpartum Depression morph into Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Sara is not ashamed of her mental illnesses nor her struggles in life. She believes that by writing her truth, she is taking the stigma away.
Here stories have been included in two anthologies:
Motherhood May Cause Drowsiness: Funny Stories by Sleepy Moms
Motherhood May Cause Drowsiness: Mom Stories from the Trenches: A Second Edition
